What denomination does Central belong to?

Central Lutheran is a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

The ELCA is a community of faith with nearly 10,500 congregations across the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and nearly five million members. Together we share a passion for making positive changes in the world. Our faith is built around a strong belief in God as made known to us in Jesus Christ. How do I become a member of Central Lutheran?

We ask those who want to become members are asked to do three things: A) Have a love for God, a desire to follow Jesus and be baptized. B) Attend a 4-hour orientation. In 2010 these sessions are Sunday, March 7 from 11:30-3:00 and Tuesdays Sept 28 and Oct 5 from 5:30-7:30. C) Attend reception into membership during a worship service.

I'd like to get married at Central Lutheran but I'm not a member, is that a problem?

We try to accomodate all who wish to be married at Central regardless of church membership. You can contact the church office, 507-452-5156, centluth@hbci.com, for more information about available dates, fees, and premarital counseling.
