Women's Ministry

Central Lutheran Church Women (CLCW)

All women members of Central are members of the CLCW. This organization has several programs during the year with enrichment speakers, brunch or lunch programs and an annual Birthday Party at the Good Shepherd Home in Rushford. CLCW also sponsors fund raisers for church or missions projects as the need arises.

Circles

These are small groups of women who meet once a month for Bible study and fellowship. These groups meet in the morning, afternoon or evening in homes or at the church. Many circles support special mission projects such as the Iambi Hospital, an Indian mission, the aids projects, etc. New Circles may be formed tailored to meet the needs of the women of Central.

Quilting

This is an active group of women who meet Tuesdays to make tied quilts or comforters for our newly baptized children, graduating seniors and siesta robes for shut-ins or senior citizen members. We also prepare quilts for Lutheran World Relief for shipment worldwide, a quilt or two for Good Earth Village (the church-supported youth camp and retreat center) for their annual quilt auction.

Lutheran World Relief

LWR is an organization that gives aid to many countries around the world. We provide materials for their use such as: school bags with supplies for students, health kits with personal hygiene products, sewing kits with fabric to help teach a skill to workers, layettes for new moms and clothing for use after a disaster or as needed.

Funeral Committee

This group serves a lunch for the family and friends at funerals or memorial services.

Women of the ELCA Purpose Statement

As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.
