Child Care and School-Age Summer Ministrty

The Child Care Center is an outreach ministry of Central Lutheran Church. The philosophy of our program is to provide a Christ-centered learning environment where Christ’s abundant love and teaching is reflected through our staff in their loving care, guidance, and teaching of all children. Our curriculum has a spiritual component that is an integral part of our Center and is developmentally appropriate; it includes group prayer, reading and telling Bible stories, listening to Christian music, and faith related activities. In addition the curriculum focuses on each child’s developmental needs as recognized by early childhood standards, including social and emotional, language and literacy, mathematical and scientific thinking, creativity and the arts, large and small motor skills, and ways to approach learning. Each child’s progress toward developmental standards is observed, recorded and discussed with parents twice yearly during conferences.

Our Center strives to maintain low child to staff ratios for more individualized care. Parental involvement is encouraged; parents are welcome into the classrooms at any time and are asked to participate in field trips and our celebrations outside of the school day. We enroll children and employ staff with diverse cultures and beliefs; we respect and celebrate these cultural, racial, social, personal and lifestyle differences.

*A year-round, licensed child care facility
*Open Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
*Enroll children 6 weeks to pre-kindergarten ages
*Serve breakfast, a hot, catered lunch, and afternoon snack daily
*High interest faith-based and theme-based study
*Small group experiences
*Periodic field trips

K2B/School-Age Summer Child Care Program

*June – August licensed summer care
*Open Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
*Enroll children entering kindergarten through 2nd grade
*Serve breakfast, a hot, catered lunch, and afternoon snack daily
*High interest faith-based and theme-based study
*Small group experiences
*Weekly field trips to the Aquatic Center and surrounding community attractions
